Repeat the lesson from last week. Many did not do what they needed to do. Remember, this is for you.

Define the words given to you, give a small example of how to apply it and think about it for a minute.

Remember, it is all about 1 Timothy 4:12. Lets prove that scripture true!

Remember!

- Proverbs is for vs. 4 – “..giving PRUDENCE to the simple, KNOWLEDGE and DESCRECIONto the young…” : What do the words in bold mean? Look them up.

1 Tim 4:12 – you need to find the definition of each of the words we talked about on Sunday ( speech, life, love, faith, purity), use them in an example and make put them into practice somehow. Talk it over with your parents so they can encourage you and help you out.

MEMORY SCRIPTURE: SAME AS LAST WEEK, 1 Timothy 4:12- remember, being young is not an excuse so set a good example in all you do.

What is God’s purpose for me? Even though I’m so young?

These are questions we all ask ourselves at one time or another. Last Sunday we talked about “Leadership” and we all became aware that we are all leaders, first of ourselves and then to those around us. What I want to look at a bit this week is how can you as preteens lead those around you, even though you are young.

PROVERBS ONE

1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:

2 for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight;

3 for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair;

4 for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young-

5 let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance-

6 for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.

7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools ^[a] despise wisdom and discipline

This is what proverbs is for. To teach us and give us wisdom. Verse 4 says to give knowledge and prudence to the young, what does that mean? Define knowlege and prudence. How can this help the “Youth”?

A Fitting New Year!

Hey everyone, I am really looking forward to this New Year and all of us “Getting Fit”. Of course I mean spiritually. Like I said on Sunday, We will be getting a lot deeper on topics like day to day life, getting deeper into how to apply the scriptures and of course, why we do what we do as disciples. On Sunday I mentioned that I am studying Proverbs and I invited any of you that would like to do it with me to start one chapter a day and then we can comment on it every Sunday and Wednesday. I’ll see whoever wants to be there this Wednesday at the Preteen Blog!

Please read Genesis 1:26-31 on your own and come up with at least two thoughts on leadership on your own. Once you have those two thoughts and have answered the questions below discuss them with your parents.
